  • 1.  nvme Composition VMFS performance is very low

I'm going to have a serious performance degradation when using nvme drives to form a VMFS storage. Degradation from nvme to sata.

I can really use the performance of NVME after switching it to passthrough. Do I need to make any adjustments? to give VMFS NVME performance!

    Hey  ,

To maximize NVMe performance for VMFS datastores in your VMware environment, you can indeed leverage NVMe passthrough to provide the VMs with direct access to the NVMe SSDs. This can help reduce latency and potentially improve overall performance compared to using NVMe drives as virtual disks or datastore backed by NVMe.

    hey  .

Only straight through? I have a large disk. Straight through would be a waste.

    Yup,

The only way (at least I don't know any other) is either passthrough or using it as a regular VMFS datastore.
