    2 hosts esxi 4.1

4 equallogic sans as one unit(total of 16 active ports)

I created a vswitch for iscsi communication with my san. I have 9 pnics added to the switch and have 9 vmkernel ports each with their own ip address. I haven't changed anything else from default. I assume the best option is now to enable round robin to get the best performance. How is this done?

I made a little bit of progress. I linked up a specific pnic to each individual iscsi vmkernel port in my vswitch. So each single vmkernel port is a assigned a single pnic. I then selected "Round Robin" in the "Manage Paths" properties of the attached LUN storage. Did I also have to check off the "Load Balancing" under the NIC Teaming tab in my vmkernel port settings and then choose a Load Balancing type? Or is that it? I currently have 2 LUNs. When I look at my LUN it shows only a single connection to it. When I look at my Equallogic connections I only see the same ip address connected to each LUN. My LUN only shows 1 active connection in VMware as well. It doesn't appear to be working? Not sure.

You need to bind all your iSCSI vmkernels to the software iSCSI initiator - this is all done via CLI. Take a look at the following link for step by step instructions.

Thanks. Is ESXi embedded(licensed with Enterprise) open enough to do this from the rcli ?

Yep you can do this from RCLI with no issues. You could also enable SSH access as another option and configure it via a Putty session as an example.

I believe I have this all setup now. What should I check to verify things are working as planned?
