  • 1.  Moving a Template to a different datastore

    I've been shuffling my VMs around (evacuating a SAN array to prep it for firmware upgrades) and I've run across a template VM.  It does not appear that you can migrate a template.   Do I have to convert it back into a VM, migrate it, then convert it back to a template?

    Yes - This will still be the fastest way.

    vmroyale is right

    the other way is to unregister the template, cut and paste to a new datastore, and reregister.

    cleaner just to make it a vm
