Move from one stand alone ESXi to another

Hi, what is the best way to move a virtual machine from one stand alone ESXi to another? Both hosts are on the same network but have no shared storage. Big test VMs that need to move and would like to avoid landing on a shared NAS or something like that.

If you do not have vCenter to assist with the move, I usually recommend using the VMware Standalone Converter to perform a move like this.

Otherwise, you could use a program like Veeam Backup free edition/FastSCP to move the data.

Please try using VMware standalone converter and do a conversion of virtual machine.

You can also power of the virtual machines download the virtual machine files on to the local desktop and upload them on to the datastore of the new host and register the virtual machine to the new host and power on the machine.

Veeam Quick Migration that is available in the free edition of the said product. Used several times before, always worked as expected.

Yes, Veeam backup is the best solution for move VMs from one host to another host and secondary option (if it is possible) temporally install VCenter evaluation version and configured for the time being for move VM from one host to another host but still without Storage you have to take downtime for the move VMs from one host to another host.

Thanks for answers, forgot to answer here after vacations and all. Had to install VMWare Converter on VM on same host as target. Worked fine.
