Hi - has anyone had success/problems with converting a machine with the destination being a mapped drive? Every time I tried I get "destination drive x: does not exist" at the top of the converter screen when I click next. X: does exist and has full read/write access... Local drives seem fine.

    Using 4.0 on Windows 2000 SP4.

The mapped drive also has alot more free space than the local drive.

A network mapped drive isn't local to the machine, so the converter agent cannot perform a snaphsot on it. I think converting a mapped drive doesn't make sense, but I might misunderstood your question.

Try not selecting the network mapped drive in converter. After your server is migrated, the mapped drive will be reconnected to your server over the network.

I think you mis-interpreted my question. I dont want to snapshot it - I want to make it the destination for the conversion of the local machine and drives - save the snapshot to it.

    Sorry I misunderstood your question.

I just tried converter 4 on a mapped destination drive as you stated without problems.

It's odd that it doesn't work for you. Did you try to remove/remap the drive?

    Maybe it's related to running on Windows2000SP4. I tried on Windows2003 SP2.

Figured it out, just use a UNC path instead, that worked for me!!!
