    Hi,

I installed Netapp virtual storage console plugin on vcenter server. It installed fine but i am not able to enable it. It shows error:

"The following error occured while downloading the script plugin from https://<<IP_ADDRESS>:8143/vSphereExtensionDescriptor.xml:

The request failed because of a connection failure. (Unable to connect to the remote server)"

I have a fresh vcenter 5.1 server pointing to the already existing database of old vcenter 5.0 (decommissioned). The above error is showing the ip address of the old vcenter server (5.0) - https://<<OLD_Vcenter_Server>>:8143

    Troubleshooting done so far:

Checked vsphere client -> Administration -> vcenter server settings -> runtime settings. It was showing old vcenter 5.0 host name (changed it to new 5.1)

Checked vsphere client -> Administration -> vcenter server settings -> advance settings. New vcenter 5.1 host name is shown everywhere.

Checked registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VMware, Inc. and old name is no where.

As per article: https://communities.netapp.com/thread/18454 disabled ESC and reboot but no success.

I am unable to ENABLE the VSC plugin through vsphere client. It remains disabled with the above error.

    Any suggestions please?

    Thanks,

    AG

Thanks. Yes, I already checked this article. However the issue got resolved. I just closed the vsphere client and opened it again :smileysilly:
