  • 1.  low host CPU utilization

    Hey there,

I'm currently testing out ESXi and I am new to this topic. Right now I have a non virtualized Windows 2016 Server (plus 2x Windows 10) that I want to virtualize. For this reason I wanted to set it up in a test environment first and see how it goes.

I installed ESXi 6.5 V3 (last supported version) on my older PRIMERGY RX1330 M1 (4 Core) and set up a fresh Windows 2016 VM and assigned 4 vCPU (max) to it.
4 Cores show up in Windows task manager.

It turns out that the performance of my VM is pretty low. I installed Cinebench to stress test and all my Cores show up on 100% in Windows. In the ESXi overwiew however I see a max utilitization of 3.1 / 12.4 GHZ. It seems like my VM is only able to use 1 core out of 4.
EXSi is still running in evaluation mode.
    Any suggestions? Thank you

Check the VM setting and CPU limit.

Maybe some CPU limit has been configured for virtual machine accidentally.
