I do see prior to losing access

Device naa.60a9800037533352703f44306b4d454c performance has deteriorated. I/O latency increased from average value of 11953

    microseconds to 263450 microseconds.

    xxxxxx

would the I/O latency cause a lun disconnect?

Issues like this are usually seen when there are either network or FC issues, which might cause e.g. CRC errors. Double check the network switch ports for errors to find out whether this is the case.

I am using Fiber channel. You think this has to do with the fiber channel switches?

I had to troubleshoot such an issue a few weeks ago, and found a bad FC cable which was the root cause for this. The FC port to which it was connected showed a high number of CRC errors.

how do you find crc errors on FC ports?

Depending on the switch model, you can find the port/SFP statistics in either the CLI or the web GUI.
