    Hi,

I'm currently looking into vsphere 6.7 and vm encryption. To set this up you need a KMS (key management server). Vmware lists a limited number of commercial KMS solutions which are supported.

    List of supported KMS solutions:

    https://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility/pdf/vi_kms_guide.pdf

Since at the moment i just like to funcionally test vm encryption without actually buying an enterprise (and thus expensive;) KMS i would like to ask if anyone knows of a free alternative.

(btw: i contacted 2 of these vendors but until now i got no usable feedback)

    Any idea's?

    Thanks in advance

    Jeroen

Have you contacted the vendors to get a time limited eval license to test their solutions?? I've found that most good software vendors will provide you with a decent eval time period for their solutions. Especially if they're not dirt cheap. If you're going to drop decent coin on something, it's best to be able to fully test it before doing so. It will also help save yourself from more pain down the road if you discover that the solution that's been purchased doesn't work as expected, or is a nightmare to administrate.

    hi guys,

Thanks for the answers. I will give HyTrust a try. I already contacted a few vendors and had a demo-webex session yesterday with fortinex. That was surely helpfull.

    Greetings
