Licensing and direct use for affiliates

Hello everyone, 

Giving a look at the EULA (May 2021) i stumbled upon this paragraph:

1.5. Services for Affiliates. You may use the Software to deliver IT services to your Affiliates, provided that those Affiliates may not directly use the Software.

Does VMware provide anywhere an exact definition of "direct use"?

To give context, we just use vCenter and vSphere products and we share the same infrastructure with other affiliates.
