  • 1.  latest vmtools breaks FME application

    Hi

    we have upgraded our VxRail cluster to the latest 8.3 version and vmtools is updated so we're deployed it automatically

    vmtools v12.5 seems to cause a video card issue and breaks FME completely. see the FME article on it:

    FME Workbench and other FME Form software broken by VMWare Tools | Community

    There is a workaround to add an environment variable 

    SVGA_ALLOW_LLVMPIPE=0

    which does fix it for the time being.

    Anyone else seeing this? Worth raising here as well as on the FME forums.

    Faulting Module = vm3dgl64.dll
    Working Version = 3.5.3.2

    Thank you for reporting! I've just got confirmation from Engineering that this issue will be fixed in a future release of VMware Tools and the team will be publishing this as a known issue in existing VMware Tools 12.5.0 release notes along with the recommended workaround shortly
