Moderator: Moved to Update Manager Discussions (the closest match to Lifecycle Manager in the current VMTN areas) - the {code} area where you created the thread is for SDK matters.

    Hey ,

Have you tried more than one browser to accomplish this? Also have you checked inside vCenter Server for the Lifecycle Manager logs?

One issue that could happen but I am not sure that is your case is that the ISO could be corrupted at the time of downloading. For checking that you can do an SHA256 or MD5 checksum comparison by comparing the file result with the one that is displayed in My VMware for that ISO respectively.

Same behavior on Chrome and Edge. Tried with different ISO images, same issue. I'll have a look at the logs.

If you are ensure that your ISO files are not corrupted, so remove the proxy settings of your browser, check the trust of the vCenter server's certificate again, and as the last suggestion check the remaining space of VUM/LCM related partition on  your vCenter appliance (VMDK12: /storage/updatemgr via shell or SSH access)

Ok, Vcenter certificate is trusted. Here's the size available (It's a new installation) :

    /dev/mapper/vtsdblog_vg-vtsdblog 4.9G 36M 4.6G 1% /storage/vtsdblog
    /dev/mapper/imagebuilder_vg-imagebuilder 9.8G 37M 9.3G 1% /storage/imagebuilder
    /dev/mapper/updatemgr_vg-updatemgr 98G 1.3G 92G 2% /storage/updatemgr
    /dev/mapper/lifecycle_vg-lifecycle 98G 3.1G 90G 4% /storage/lifecycle

No proxy defined, but we used a cloud proxy in my company. I'll disable it on my side and try again. I'll let you know.

    Thanks for all your replies.

I try without cloud proxy enabled, but still the same issue. I attach some Update Manager logs.

    ,

I can see the next: errors in the log vum-log4j-fileupload :

Those messages are repeated every time you try to update the ISO. On the other logs I cannot see something relevant, however there are some entried for Offline Bundles that already exist in the Database. Something you can always try and you will not lose much information is resetting the Update Manager Database as it is described here: https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/2147284

That also applies for vSphere Lifecycle Manager as you can see.

Looking at the first screenshot and your details I can see you are uploading a 7.0 U1 ISO of the Dell image, from here I presume that your version of vCenter Server is more than that, is this right? If vCenter version is not equal or more then that is the issues as it does not have the vendor codes to correlate.

Finally, to confirm the last point, try to upload a 6.7 ISO into Lifecycle Manager and see if it works.

    Regards!

I resetted the Update manager DB... No luck. My vcenter is a 7.0.1. I tried to upload a 6.7 image, same problem, stuck at 256.02Mb as you can see in the screenshot attached...

Was there ever a resolution to this? I am having the same issue.

I had the same problem but I ended up realizing that I had the wrong cluster selected in Lifecycle Manager. Select the local cluster in the drop down box directly above "Imported ISOs" tab prior to trying to import an ISO. Not sure why this doesn't work but it actually saved me from using the wrong ISO on the wrong cluster!

We cannot import a lower version vSphere ISO on a higher version update manager / Life cycle Manager,  as per the update on the VMware portal,  Life Cycle manager 7 will not allow you to import ESXI 6.5 or 6.7 ISO images. & i have tested it & it failed as mentioned in the below article
