  • 1.  install on hp 8200 elite

    Ok so im running esxi 4.1u1 on a hp7900 elite tower and hp 7900 elite small form for my lab.. run great..

    now i just got in 2 HP 8200 i5 elites... tower and sff...

    so went to boot off of my 4.1.u1 cd and believe it is failing on not finding the HD... so went and saw esxi5 is out..

    downloaded it and boot.. both systems do the same..

    it is saying no network card found...

    can anyone list steps on how i can get the nic in a 8200 seen?

    im seeing the nic as Intel(R) 82579LM Gigabit Network Connection

    help appreciated

    once i get this installed.. need to get a quote to load this thing up with memory...

    Hi

    You have to inject a drivers in ESXi iso and run installation again, take have a look here

    well,

    no one says it will be easy :smileywink:

    if you wanna easier workaround simply put a NIC which is supported by ESXi directly

    yeah personally it doesnt matter too much.. im going to try and get 4.1u1 on them.. but think i had problems there too..

    but will install 5 on my PE840.. or as you recommend.. install a different nic...

    well i put an intel pro 1000 GT adapter in and viola....
