    Two options here:

    1. free your 443 port

    2. change the port from installation - client server installation

Are you trying to install this on the vCenter server?  The stand-alone needs its own server for installation as both vCenter and Converter both have web components.

You will either need to change the ports to something unused, or create another vm, and run converter there.  I prefer the 2nd method, and have a separate vm for my converter server.

I installed vCenter Converter Standalone (client/server) on one of our vCenter-serveres with the following ports:

    9180 HTTP

    9181 HTTPS

    9182 Agent

I than connected to the vCenter Converter-server from my PC by specifying the port (see image). Seems to work ;-)

It occurred with me, but I realized that VMware Workstation, installed in my laptop, uses this same port. So, I opened the Windows Services and stopped all VMware Workstation services. After I was able to install the vCenter Converter without problem.
