HP SIM WBEM polling working, but event notification not

We have a number of ESXi hosts in the field that are all configured, as far as we can tell, identically.

We have successfully added them to HP SIM using WBEM, and WBEM correctly showes their hardware status.

If an alert-worthy event happens, however, some of the ESXi hosts will NOT send a WBEM alert. The status in HP SIM changes, but no event is received or recorded,

The hosts that are not sending the alert events are consistent in their failure

The hosts that are sending alerts are consistent in their success.

Other devices at the failing hosts' site which are configured for SNMP are sending traps without issue.

We've already tried:

unsubscribing/subscribing

deleting the host from HP SIM and re-adding it

restarting the host

reinstalling the HP bundle on the host

reloading the router config

restarting router

We've put a packet sniffer on the network of both a successful host and a failing host and there is not one packet being generated between the failing unit and the default gateway. (all hosts are remote from the SIM location, but routers are identically configured, traceroutes look good, no other network issues observed)

Anyone have any idea or experienced anything similar?

Same problem here. WBEM events formerly worked fine on ESXi 5.0 installed from HP customized image. Since upgrading to ESXi 5.0 U1 event notification does not happen any more. Only exception is event "WBEM providers started" when host is rebooted, so generally notification channel seems to work. But nothing that happens to host hardware triggers any event.

Never had any problems before upgrading to U1.

Tried the same actions (subscribe/unsubscribe, reboot, ...), no effect.

Next try might be a fresh installation from customized 5.0 U1 image.

Any other ideas?

Have you tried restarting the CIM Server daemon in the Security profile of the host?

Restarting CIM Server has no effect.

Tried installing latest release of HP offline bundle. Still the same.

Meanwhile I reinstalled the host from scratch, using HP customized ESXi 5 image with integrated U1. Rediscovered the server in HP SIM, subscribed to WBEM events, rebooted server. Still no event notifications.

Just upgraded to recently released HP offline bundle version 1.2 (formerly 1.1.2 was installed). This upgrade solved the problem for us. WBEM notifications are successfully created now.
