I download the latest customized VMware image from HP (vSphere 5.5 U1 June 2014) and burned the ISO to a DVD and even formatted a USB drive and copied the ISO to that as well, but anytime I try and boot with either media, the Proliant does not boot for each. Any ideas as to why neither the DVD or USB is not booting? I double checked the boot order and both are listed before the hard drive (which has no OS installed anyway). When I select Intelligent Provisioning and select Disk for the install it tells me nothing is on the DVD, and when I select the USB option, it says it can't find the install files.

    Thx,

    Jeff

What if you try and boot the DVD on a desktop / laptop does it boot?

Also have you tried booting the ISO from the ILO remote console?

Stupid error on my part not verifying if I could boot DVD on desktop/laptop. Tried it on a laptop and no go so re-burning ISO and will test.

    Thx

Np, glad I could help, it happens.  Probably a bad download of the ISO or something.

Burned a new DVD with the ISO and verified I could boot from it on a PC. Inserted DVD into Proliant and still wouldn't boot from DVD. So, I then reset the BIOS to factory defaults (this is a lab server) and viola! Booted from ISO on DVD.

    Thx again for your help!

Not sure why the reset solved the issue. Anyway, the installation image (ISO) is meant for a CD, not for a DVD.
