How to uninstall VMware Tools 11 on physical machine?

Hi,

I'm trying to uninstall VMware Tools 11 on a physical machine (Windows 10), but the VMware Tools uninstaller does literally nothing. The uninstaller window pops up for a moment, then disappears again. If i'm selecting "Modify" instead of uninstalling, then the installer closes with a "Fatal error" window. No error codes are shown in either cases.

I suspect, that the uninstaller doesn't work, because the VMware Tools 11 installer doesn't work on physical machines either. I was able to remove VMware Tools with Revo Uninstaller Free version (suggested by others on the forums), but i would like to see an "official" method for uninstallation.

I usually create master images from virtual installations (on ESXi 6.7), that's why VMware Tools is transferred to physical machines. If uninstallation of VMware Tools on physical machines won't be supported, then i have to uninstall it prior of creating the master image.

Hi,

VMware tools are for Virtual Machine only. It is very strange that he had them installed.

That powershell script didn't help.

I didn't install VMware Tools on the physical machine, rather on a virtual machine, which was later transferred to a physical machine.

Here are the steps :

1. Install Windows 10 on a virtual machine, and install VMware Tools 11.

2. Create an image of the virtual machine.

3. Restore the image on a physical machine.

This is how VMware Tools gets "installed" on a physical machine, and can't be uninstalled.

Enter the installation file folder from the command and type this:

For 32 Bit OS: setup /c

For 64 Bit OS: setup64 /c

Have you converted this machine from Physical to Virtual?

If yes, it should allow you to uninstall. If no, how & why did you installed it?

I mean Virtual to Physical.

Else convert machine to virtual using converter & then uninstall VM tool and then migrate again to Physical without VM tool.
