    Posted Nov 08, 2008 11:03 AM

    Hi,

Very urgent status here, I've reboot my ESX server which inside of it has at least 10 virtual machine. When the host up, one of the virtual machine inside it has grey color and the label status is 'inaccessible'.

How can I fix this virtual machine to make it work properly??

    Regards,

    Arief

ps: I've run ESX server 3.0.1 & VI client version 2.0.2

what type of storage is the guest on. Can you see other guests on the same storage.

Can you see the files if you login via command shell.

Have you tried removing the guest then adding it back in to your inventory

I used SAN storage for the host. I can see others guest in the same storage and no problem at all. I can see the inaccessible machine files via console.

I've tried to remove it from inventory and then adding back but when I powered on the virtual machine, the status is always in progress & then I can't do anything on it.

Have you tried to restart the vcenter services as we'll as the esx agents

I've restarted it using service vmware-vpxa restart, it's no affected at all, the inaccessible machine was still 'in progress' status.

    Try restarting the hostd service

    service mgmt-vmware restart

Yes, I have also did that, and the status in progress still appear. But it seems the problem has been solved, I just restart the VC service at the VC server, and all was going back to normal, the 'in progress' status has gone, but the HA configuration has a warning & I just need to re-enabled it :smileyhappy:

Anyway, thank you very much for all of your reply.
