    Hello oudmaster,

There is a very nice article by William Lam on the enabling VT for a VM on ESXi 5.1 and above servers, you may check the article http://www.virtuallyghetto.com/2012/08/how-to-enable-nested-esxi-other.html , you need to go to edit settings of a VM,  expand the "CPU" section and select "Hardware Virtualization" box to enable VHV.

If you find this or any other answer useful please mark the answer as correct or helpful

VT does not  appear in the Bios of this VM,

    how to enable it ??

For Virtual Machines, VT feature can be enabled by adding vhv.enable="TRUE" in vmx config file or it can be enabled from web client as said above. But virtual Pheonix BIOS CMOS setup of VM will not provide any option to enable or disable VT feature. Only on physical servers we have an option to enable or disable VT feature in BIOS CMOS setup.

    Thanks

    Rajiv

    thanks guys for your help,

yesterday I spent all the day reading about vCenter (I got Headache)

    I have installed it twice,

one on windows server 2008, and the other is OVA (both of them are guests on the ESXi server)

ok now I am able to access vCenter server through vSpher web client (talking about the one with windows server),

but how to link this server to the ESXi server and retrieve all its information so I can manage the host and the guests ???
    I failed to do that,,,

by the way I am not using active directory !! will that be a problem ??

    thanks a lot,

Just out of curiosity, why do you want to enable VT in the VM?

I want to install GNS3 IOU and to do that you should use virtualbox  and run linux.

This VM has 12 cores and 64 GB RAM, and I want to use it

Is VirtualBox really necessary?  Won't IOU run in a VMware VM?  You'd get much better performance without the nested hypervisors.

From step (2) in http://www.discorouter.com/2014/04/installing-gns3-10-alpha-2-with-iou.html, it looks like there is a different OVA for VMware.

thanks I have downloaded and installed it,

    now I got new issue,

I suppose to get an IP address once I run this VM, but I am not getting it,

I installed the same OVA on VMware workstation and I got this IP only when I enabled NAT,

NAT option I do not see it with ESXi 5.5 !!! I am using vSphere Client to access it,,

    any idea !??

I would delete the NIC and add a new one, connected to the VM Network.
