When I try to use a profiler such as Intel vtune, on any windows guest vm, it reboots, I have enabled hardware counters on that vm, what should be enabled in order to use a profiler ?
it used to work perfectly well until some years ago, what has changed ?

could it be to do with this on vcenter :
virtualized performance counters are not supported within an EVC cluster
could it be it has been disabled on virtual hardware version > 15
and only on some windows guests like windows 2016
