Hi,
I have Vmware Esxi-5 , today I enable Direct-path I/O for device controller SAS after reboot host , all VM are with a message Unkown (inaccessible) and all my disks SATA disappear. I did the the process as on link
http://communities.vmware.com/message/2012833 but not worked very well. The device still after reboot host.
Thank very much
If you want to completely disable VMDirectPath, then you can always disable VT-D or IOMMU in your BIOS> Processor configuration. Also, when you have removed the device as passthrough in esx.conf file, did you reboot the host.??
I did change in esx.conf but not worked, now I will try disable IOMM and VT at BIOS then after disabled the features in BIOS, the device come back works ?
Somebody knows other process for ESXi5 that disable VMDirectPath ?
The solution until now is reinstall ESXi5 using CD installer but is for me is so stupied . There ins´t somebody here know solve this problem ?
ESXi 4.0 had a boot option to disable IOMMU - http://vm-help.com/esx40i/VMDirectPath/fix_config_issues.php. I don't see it with 5.0 but you might want to look through all the advanced config options.
I have followed instructions in this link, but thesolution is for Esxi4 doesn´t work to Esxi5
