How to check whether my server is Raid configured or not?

Hi,

I have HP Proliant DL 360 G6 Server.
My colleague, installed VMware ESXi 5.5.0 on it.
now, he has already resigned, and can not be contacted.

How do i know whether, that server has already configured with RAID or not?

Since the RAID is configured by the RAID Controller so you need to reboot the host and go the RAID Controller Utility by Pressing ALT+E or ALT+Q based on the Controller. There you can check your disk is configured  with which RAID Level.

From ESXi Level you can not find this.

You should be able to see the RAID information from HP ILO, you can see the status and the configured RAID details .

Assuming you have used an HP customized image with the HP utilities you can ssh to the ESX host and give:

/opt/hp/hpssacli/bin/hpssacli ctrl all show config

The HP utils can be found:

vmhba1 is showing HP Smart Array P410i which is the RAID Controller Card that means your server is RAID configured.

Else you can reboot the server & press F5 during initialization of the RAID controller you can view from there

Yes, you can easily find out through BIOS, which RAID is configured in Server.
