Yuo need to add the keys to the VC console.

    Open up VC.

    Click Help.

    Slect Edit Licensing Information

From here you can select Add Licenses, and these can be from a simple txt file.

    Good luck.

What version of ESX? Also, verify you have the appropriate number of VC Agent and ESX server license to cover the server in you license file / under the license section of VC. Also, verify that you have a license for VirtualCenter itself.

Which version of ESX and Virtual Center you are using...? Make sure you have got the ESX License with VC Client and VC Management license. Unless & until you configure you VC Server for this Licenses you will not be able to add any host.

I have the same issue, where i am using ESX 3.01 hosts and VC 2.0.1 and trying to add the Hosts and getting the Licences not available error??

On the Licence server i have the following:

Users of VC_ESXHOST: (Total of 18 licenses issued; Total of 0 licenses in use)

    Any help?

Shutting down and re-starting the License server service and re-reading license files seems to resolve this eventually.

Something else to look at - I had a DNS issue with the ESX host and FQDN was not accepted - I ended up adding by IP (after DNS issue was resolved, ESX hosts add OK again..)
