  • 1.  how do we check the type of Disk via the ESX server client

    Hi,

    I wanted to know the type of Disk (SATA or SAS) used by the ESX server.

    How can i check that through the vSPhere client. (through the UI). ?

    Hi!

    From esx-hosts configuration-tab's Storage page you could see Device of your vmfs-storage but you cannot see that is there sata-disk attached to your controller or sas.

    I think the nearest you can get is by going to configuration -> storage adapter -> vmhbaX -> name. Like my one show "HP Serial attached SCSI"

    hi

    if you have access to your esx server you can always run

    $ lshw

    and retrive all of your hardware info
