    Hello,

I have vmware vSphere installed on my HP ProLiant G6 server. Howerver HP usually gives you tools to be able to manage the ProLiant system health. How do I go about monitoring my HP HW in a virutal machine?

    Hello.

HP most likely has the same tools for this Proliant. You just need to download the ESX specific versions of them, and install them directly on your host. You can install HP SIM in a virtual machine, and have the ESX hosts report to it or use the system management homepage directly off of the hosts via a web browser.

    Good Luck!

You can use "HP Insight Manager" for ESX.

    And of course ILOE interface.

There is no HP hardware in a VM, in a VM it's generic VMware devices or specifically configured HW types like the e1000. You can configure a VM to monitor ESX Host HW of course, but that it no different than in a non-virtual environment.

If you install the HP management agents in the Service Console, increase the memory for the SC to 800MB. http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1003501
