This is a multipath subject, so I'm not completely sure what to ask. I am very new to VMware vShpere. So let me give you the rundown on what I have done so far. I have put together my home lab in hopes of becoming a VCP.
- Two Dell Optiplex 745 Intel Pentium D XP 64 bit
- Macbook Pro Running Fusion
I have installed ESXi on both Dells and I am running vSphere Client in Fusion. I created a VM in my first ESXi server to install vCenter Server. And when I go to power on that VM so that I can install vCenter Server. Host tells me that I am unable to power on that VM because VT is not enabled. So I went to my BIOS to enable VT and I found no option to do so. I am hoping that all I need to do is update my BIOS. I bought my Dells used, and they are currently running BIOS version 2.0.8. Is it as simple as updating my BIOS to help me past this hurdle? If so... I am having a hard time finding out how to update my BIOS when I already have ESXi installed on my servers. Can it be done through ESXi? OR is there a larger problem that I have to deal with?
As far as I can tell, my hardware and software meet the requirements of vShpere. Let me know if you have any questions to help you help me.
