  • 1.  how do I edit the hosts file on an ESXi server?

I am trying to use RCLI, but seem to be missing something. I get envalid datastore path '[ ] etc/hosts

I'm using the command vifs -server -userrname -copy "etc"/hosts" "data\hosts"

Obvioulsy my syntax is a little off.

Is this the best way to do this or is there a better way?

    Thanks!

You can use Tech Support Mode http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1003677

The below is for the SSL cert, but you can use the same format.

    vifs.pl –server esx05.mishchenko.net –put rui.key /host/ssl_key
