  • 1.  How can I run WSL2 (or Hyper-V) in a Windows 10 guest under ESXi?

There are lots of discussions about running VMWare alongside of Hyper-V. This is not what I want!

I would like to enable WSL2 in a Windows Guest that runs in ESXi 7. I am getting the error "WslRegisterDistribution failed with error: 0x80370102" which basically means that the PC does not support virtualisation.

How do I enable Hyper-V or WSL2 inside of a Windows guest?

The along side conversations are about workstation which is a different product. If you want to look at running hyperv in a vm on esxi you need to look for articles like the one below since VMware doesn't support that officially.

Thank you for the link. When I enable this feature (hardware assisted virtualisation) then Windows 10 crashes on boot, as soon as WSL2 has been enabled.

Was anyone successful in enabling this?

What is your ESXi version? We have here some complains about BSOD when hyper-v is enabled in windows. It worked in esxi 6.5 and 6.7 seems causing problems. We will open vmware SR.

EDIT: Seem there is already topic with Hyper-V crashing Re: hyper-v crashing

    I also have same problems.

My case is enable nested ESXi and vdi OS  VT-x option.

but, click chrome or Edge brower , then OS Crush. (and no controll).

    How about this?
