  • 1.  Grant full access to a particular Cluster with a DataCenter

What is the best way to grant a users account full access to one cluster in a DataCenter? I would only like him to be able to view that cluster as well. I tried ADD PERMISSION on the cluster and making him an admin, but he cannot add VMs because he doesn' t have permissions on the DataCenter level. Thanks for any advice! Peter

Did you try editing the role to allow permissions for the datastores? Or did you simply make him "administrator" of that particular cluster?

I tried giving it admin rights just to that cluster. When I log in with that account, I cannot see any DATASTORE or NETWORK information. Also, if I try to deploy a VM, won't let get past the DATACENTER since the account only has permissions to the cluster.

You need to give this person "browse datastore" at the datacenter level, then you can use your granular permissions at a lower level. I suspect it's a bug, but this should fix it...
