I would like to know if it would be possible to download a free (and perpetual) VMware ESXi 8 (latest version) license. I have been looking for the download link into the website but I haven't found that.

You must register on broadcom portal.

If you go on https://support.broadcom.com in the right top you can see "login" and then you can register.

After you are registered, on the tab "trial & betas" you can request the trial version of the product.

Broadcom free trials of products are only available to Broadcom customers.  If you have an active subscription to at least one Broadcom product you can request a free trial for other Broadcom products.
