have you tried adding vcsa address to your trusted sites or using a different browser ?

are you able to cancel the export?

    Hello ,

Could you please attach the files /var/log/hostd.log and /var/log/vmkernel.log from the ESXi?

Make sure to be running an export so we can see what is happening in the back.

I’ve run into this issue, too. The Chrome browser was at fault. Exporting multiple files by ESXi means automatic downloads to Chrome. Its default setting for ‘Automatic downloads’ is ‘Ask’. However the popups with the question may not show up or show up after a very long delay so the export process gets suspended waiting for a permission. That can be fixed by changing the default setting to ‘Allow’. The setting is per website.

My experience is that this nothing more than the dumb way VMW shows progress.  When you are doing an export, it is usually 2 files, OVF and VMDK.  Once VMW exports the OVF at a massive 20KB, it thinks it is 50% done.  1 of 2 files, right?  Not so. The VMDK  can be hundreds of GB.  And yet that is not reflected in the progress.  Look to see if you have a download indicator moving in the top right of your browser.  Go to the browser download location.  You should see the OVF and a CRDOWNLOAD file that continually increases in size. Once the download completes, it will be renamed to the appropriate VMDK.  If the download fails for some reason prior to completion due to hard drive or network error, the CRDOWNLOAD will be unusable.  You can try and resume depending upon your browser.
