When you converted (P2V) your Exchange 2010 server, did you stop all the exchange services when you converted it? Or did you do it fully live?

Also this might have some answers for you

In the past I've always stopped the services if I tried a P2V on Exchange.  That or I built out a DAG and failed over to the Virtual Exchange that way.  Since Exchange is a sequential database that is always writing logs then committing those logs to the Database I would stop the services if you where to try another P2V.  It could resolve it.  It may not.   I'm not a Exchange Guru per say, but I get by on it :smileysilly:

You should use cold migration for SQL, Active Directory and Exchange serves as recommended by VMWARE

Machine has to be powered OFF while doing migration.

I would not recommend cold migration, you are far better off creating a new server and performing online mailbox move.  This is the simple solution and does not require down time for the clients.

VMware stopped making the cold migration disk back in version 5 I think, or did they repackage it again?
