  • 1.  ESXi vCluster connected to different Storage Array vendors

    Hello, we might add a Dell Compellent array to a vCluster that is working with 3PAR arrays. I know it is possible and I already went through this:

    ESXi Hosts and Multiple Storage Arrays 

    but I would like to hear from anybody who has had experience of different array vendors attached to the same vCluster. If it has been a nightmare.. or the contrary... I'm not big fan of such initiative, I'm thinking of what mentioned in the vmware doc above and also the fact that the kernel will have to take care of different drivers for the storage I/O at the same time...

    anyone?

    I've had zero issue doing this before and have had 3 different SAN vendors on a single cluster with no problems running in production.

    many thanks for replying! haven't you had issues with setting HBA parameters with requirements from different vendors?

    I tend not to tweak HBA parameters at all to be honest.  I haven't had an issue yet.
