  • 1.  esxi update

    we are using hp Pro Liant D L 380 p Gen  8 with esxi 5.5 u2 . now we want to upgrade 5.5 u2 to 5.5 u3. but i cant find what is true hp bios,firmware  number etc..so how to find support hp bios and firmware drivers and nic drives and all hardware dirves. how to check and where is the web site ?

    The ESXi images (ISO as well as the Offline Bundle) can be downloaded from https://my.vmware.com/web/vmware/details?downloadGroup=OEM-ESXI55U3B-HPE&productId=353

    For the host's firmware I'd suggest you use HP's latest SPP which can be downloaded from http://h17007.www1.hp.com/us/en/enterprise/servers/products/service_pack/spp/index.aspx

    if i install the spp . all hardware drives will be update. for example nic,biosi firewall etc..

    also is there a web site to check esxi 5.5 u3 and hardware update

    Yes, you can boot from the SPP either attached through iLO, or from an USB stick (USB creation Utility is included in the image). When you opt to run the interactive installation you the SPP will show you what it is going to install. Note that you cannot update the iLO firmware using the interactive installation when you attach the ISO image through iLO!

    Not exactly sure what exactly you have in mind. Anyway, the ESXi host shows some health information in the Configuration tab.
