  • 1.  ESXi Unsupported CPU

I am entering the installation of an ESXi on a Dell PowerEdge 310T, but this error immediately appears

Unsupported Intel Xeon X3430 2.40GHz CPU.

Yet those who sold the (used) machine to the customer assured that ESXi can be installed.

Virtual Technology is enabled in the BIOS.
Can I install an older version of ESXi?

Not sure who told you that, but they clearly didn't consult the HCL which states that CPU is not supported past 6.5.

    Hi

You should install the version 5.5.

I do not even remember what there was in version 5.5.

Can it always be managed via a browser?

The Embedded Host (Web) Client was introduced with v5.5 U3 Build 4345813, so make sure that you use the latest build.

If that's going to be a production system, please let the customer know that this version is already out of support!
