    Hello,

On A HP Z820 Workstation I've installed Esxi 7 on a ssd on the first sata interface. The second sata interface is connected with the dvd drive. I've 4 scsi sata interfaces, the first is connected with a hdd that holds the vm's. I would like to use the 4 internal sata's that are connected to the sas controller as passtrough in a vm Truenas.

In my PCI devices I've an "Avago LSI logic Fusion MPT 6GSAS2308 PCI Express" and a "Intel 4-Port SATA Storage Control Unit". I'm not able to switch the passtrough from Disabled to Active. After reboot it's again Disabled. I suppose it has something to do with bios settings.

I also have a "Intel Corporation Patsburg 6 Port Sata AHCI controller", this one is Passtrough Active and I can add this pci in the VM. But when I boot the VM only the hdd on sata 1 and on the first scsi sata are visible. Not the sas hdd's.

In the bios I've selected sata = AHCI (other options are RAID+AHCI or IDE), Bios ROM nics and sas are disabled.

After a new install of Esxi7 on the SSD on interface "sata 1" I can set the controllers passthrough to active. This was possible for al the controllers. But now I can't deactivate the passtrough, after reboot all the controllers are back in passtrough and I have no adapters or devices in the storage. When I toggle the passtrough I have the devices in the storage, but after reboot nothing.

I can't find the controllers in the config file /etc/vmware/esxi.conf, so I can't change the owner.
