  • 1.  Enable Jumbo Frames or Change MTU Size - VCSA / VROPS

Hi. If I want to enable Jumbo Frames or Change the MTU size for the virtual infrastructure, as I understand it I change the MTU size for the following:

    1. Physical networking devices - physical switches, routers etc

    2. ESXi - kernels

    3. vSwitch or VDS

    4. Guest OS's - change MTU size for all variations - Linux, Windows etc

My query is: I assume I need to change the MTU size for VMware supplied appliances - VCSA & vROps ?

Is there a documented process to change the MTU for these appliances?

Will this affect the support from VMware for the VCSA/vROps is I change the MTU?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

Yes you have to change the MTU size from both appliances.

About the support, why it shouldn't be supported? You will have support as long as your contract still valid :smileyhappy:

I mean, changing the MTU size for enabling Jumbo Frames is a commonn thing.

There is a similar thread how to change the MTU for VCSA. I guess this is also valid for vROps.
