    Hello,

I am new a this and looking for a solution to a problem that I have.

I want to implement affinity rules in vCenter (not an issue), but I would like to get a notification (via email if possible) as to when such a rule is in default.

For instance, if I say vmA and vmB cannot be hosted on the same hypervisor, and a situation happens where they are hosted on the same hypervisor, I would like to get an email alert for this particular situation.

Is there a way to do this?

    Thanks in advance!

    Mark

Maybe you can achieve this by using VMware vRealize Operations Manager in conjunction with vCenter.

    Hello @Mark Budman

I think you mean an Anti-Affinity rule has been created for VM A & VM B, and you would like to get alerted when they are on the same host. I am trying to understand why would we hit such an issue? When you will try to migrate, it will report an error and also (if you have them powered off & residing on the same host), every time you try to power-on, DRS would kick in and give the recommendation adhering to the Anti-Affinity rule.

Could you please elaborate the exact scenario?
