Storage upgrade caused some disruption to datastore hosted in our environment. We ended up restoring servers from a day prior to the outage. Since that outage, we see this error logged in all ESXi host in that cluster.

Duplicate name 'slotsfile' entry in cache. (2023-09-13T23:30:47.617Z cpu6:2099255)

I see this event constantly logged in all our Esxi host.

Hardware Cisco UCS blade with san boot.

    Hi,

If you had SIOC enabled on datastores before disruption, try to disable and remove slotsfile manually.

    The re-enable SIOC again.

Thanks Davoud. You certainly guided me in the right direction. I found out the datastore that is triggering these alerts.

Removing slotsfile manually didn't fix the issue for me, but i am going to get rid of that datastore and provision a new one.

    Hi,

I have the same problem, disabling SIOC and manually deleting the file did not help. When I turned off SIOC on LUN, the alerts disappeared from the logs. I manually deleted "slotfile" then turned on SIOC and alerts appeared again.
