  • 1.  Domain password sync issue on xp

    Posted Jun 15, 2009 09:54 PM

Hi, I have created a vm image of a laptop that is connected to a windows domain (I do not have the domain admin password but I do have local admin). All went well for the first few weeks. I normally use the donor machine during the day and the vm image at night. Once I changed the password on the donor machine I have not been able to log on to the vm unless I disconnect the virtual network cable and log on with the cached password (old password).

I know this is not strictly a VM converter issue but it is generated by using the process and I was hoping someone else may have come across this issue?

What is the error that you are getting while trying to login?

Please try the following: Press CtrlAltDel and select change password option. Change the password to the newly changed password. This might resolve the issue.

    Hi Sandeep,

Thanks for the response. The error message that I get after I try and change the password via control alt del then change password is that your account has now been locked due to a password problem, contact domain admin. I think that this is because the cached password is different to the domain password. I should also mention that I am using a vpn to connect the vm to the network which authenticates fine as it does not use windows auth.
