  • 1.  Does vSphere support PCoIP without Horizon View

I don't really know where to start. We have a client that wants to use a Dell-WYSE P45 zero client to access a virtual machine running on a ESXi server. The P45 only supports PCoIP protocol. The question I have does a VM running on an ESXi server support this protocol without the expensive Horizon View product?

There are 2 answers to your question. 1st, a VM running on ESXi "can" support PCOIP but with a normal install only can be accessed via RDP. 2nd, No you will need a connection broker (Horizon View Connection Server) to get the Zero Client to get to the VM. PCOIP comes into play with use of the connection broker.
