  • 1.  Do we need subscription license?

    I'm a bit confused about the Production Support and Subscription Licenses. All of our hosts has both license.

    I know Production Support means you are entitled with VMware Tech support. How about Subscription? Is it means license to use the software?

    I have extracted all of our license in License Management and could see that our vCenter has Basic Support contract. Is this what you need?

    Also, it looks like when you have Production Support, you automatically have Support + Subscription already? which different to Subscriptions Only

    Subscription grants the right for updates, and upgrades which are released while the subscription is active.
    AFAIK Support always includes Subscription, but you can Subscription without support for e.g. vSphere Essentials.

    Basic and Production support basically differ in the response time.
