On the VMware compatibility site, it shows that maximum memory for HP DL380 G7 is 192GB, however, this host can go up to 384GB. Is this a mistake? or its a limitation from VMware?
Rehards,
IMO the mentioned 192GB RAM are based on the fact that 32GB modules are fairly new (just not updated). Since ESXi 5.0 supports up to 2TB RAM in a host (http://www.vmware.com/pdf/vsphere5/r50/vsphere-50-configuration-maximums.pdf) I'm almost sure the maximum for this host is the 384GB (12x32GB) as documented in HP's Quickspecs (http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/13595_na/13595_na.HTML#Memory)

Thanks for the confirmation.
