    Hello everyone,

I have a ESX which is running on 7.0.3.
One of the VM's running on that ESX returns the following error:

Some of the disks of the virtual machine failed to load. The information present for them in the virtual machine configuration may be incomplete.

There are no snapshots left that I can remove. However, when I browse in the datastore I do see 2 files with Snapshot in the name.
They have the extension .vmem and .vmsn.

Can I fix this error because now I am afraid to restart the machine because it might not coming up anymore...:(
    Thank you in advance.

    With kind regards,
    Kezza

Any errors from Datastore side and from VM level?

Check via esxcli or WinSCP if you have flat.vmdk files?

What disks are the VMX and vmdk  descriptor file point to?

Please run ls -lisa in the VM's folder, and post command's output.

We are having a rash of these after the latest patch for 7.0.3. Powering off and powering on the VM again has fixed this each time.

    Hi Bossmaster

I just had the same problem, and I solved it by removing the VM from the inventory and then re-registering the VM on the same host, which solved the problem.

When the VM was shut down, it was put in an inaccessible mode. Once the VM is in this state, you need to go to the datastore where the VM is located and look for the .vmx file. Select it and the option to register the VM will become active. Select it and you will be presented with options to register the VM, which will depend on your needs and infrastructure.
