Hello,
I am in the process of migrating all our MVs from our old host running ESX 7 to a new host running ESX 8.0.3. vCenter to vCenter migration is not available in our license and I need to manually export and import/register to the new host. I noticed that for VMs that are running CENTOS 7, I am getting the below warning every time i reboot the VM:
[ 0.000000] Detected CPU family 6 model 106 stepping 6
[ 0.000000] Warning: Intel Processor - this hardware has not undergone upstream testing. Please consult http://wiki.centos.org/FAQ for more information
[ 4.112684] piix4_smbus 0000:07.3: SMBus Host Controller not enabled!
It will continue to boot and load the OS, I am also able to login and access the running services. Looks like it is working.
I am also able to fix the SMBus warning by backlisting it in /etc/modprobe.d/****.conf, but eh CPU warning is persistent.
Anyone have encounter this scenario?
Can I simply ignore the warning or any is there settings that I need t adjust to make the CPU warning go away?
Thank you in advance and any help will be highly appreciated.
