Hello, I am currently building the VMware Home Lab (version 8) on the Ubuntu 22.04 OS using these instructions: VMware Home Lab Setup: An In-depth Guide. I have completed the steps for "Creating a VM" (essentially running an ESXi host on the VMware Workstation)--note that some of the steps are for ESXi 7, while I am trying to make the lab for version 8.

However, when I try to click "start up this guest operating system" for the ESXi 8 host, I get the error: Unable to change virtual machine power state: Could not get snapshot information: Insufficient permissions. Module 'Snapshot' power on failed. Failed to start the virtual machine.

I have attached an image showing my setup. At least based on researching online, every source that encounters this error says to delete all of the .lck files, and rerun; however this doesn't work on my part. Furthermore, I have manually given execute permission to everyone for each of the files in the lab directory (though the .scoreboard file reverts to not giving anyone execute permission after I click "start up this guest operating system"). Finally, I have checked the VMware Snapshot Manager, and there are no snapshots. Please advise.
