  • 1.  Convertor Error when Importing WinNT Server

    Posted May 07, 2007 02:29 PM

I am using the the latest Converter Version: 3.0.1 Build 44840.

My WinNT Server (WinNT4.0/SP6) has three disks

    Drive C NTFS 120GB 100GB Free 20 GB Used

    Drive D NTFS 120GB 110GB Free 10 GB Used

    Drive E NTFS 120GB 120GB Free

When I am trying to convert the WinNT Server (WinNT4.0/SP6) I get this error:

ERROR: Failed to take snapshot of a source volume.

Possible causes include not having any NTFS volumes on Windows XP or Windows 2003 source systems, and not having enough free disk space.[/b]

I tried all the various combinations such as:

Running the converter from the Server itself and saving the Machine Import on the Local Drive (NTFS) , Network Drive (NTFS) , USB Drive (NTFS)

Running the converter from the Win2000/WinXP PC and saving the Machine Import on the Local Drive (NTFS) , Network Drive (NTFS) , USB Drive (NTFS).

    What I am missing here?

    Thanks

When you installed the Converter agent, did the agent install properly and reboot? Did you use a local administrator account?

    That's right.

Agent installed successfully..I rebooted the Server after the nstall.

I have used local administrator account to do the machine Import.

    Thanks

What happens when you try just selecting the C drive?

Thanks All for the help. I re-applied SP6 and that did the trick. I can make the Image now .
