Converting a Windows NT4 Workstation

Hi,

for a customer I have to convert a running NT4 workstation machine into a virtual.

The machine is still OK, but there is a very old special software installed, that runs only on NT. It is not possible to install the software on a new computer, because it is configured by a specialist many years ago.

Is there an old version of the converter available, that supports NT4?

Converter 4.0.1 is the last version that lists support for NT4 SP6.  Newer versions may or may not work (I've never tried).  If you use version 4.0.1, check out the release notes and take note of the supported destinations... newer versions of Workstation/Player/Fusion and ESX are not supported.  You could either convert it to an ESX host up to version 4.0, Workstation up to 6.5, or just convert it to an OVF and then manually import it iinto your target environment.

I would use Converter 3.0.3 - download link can be found with google.

Note that your NT needs sp6a - if you do not have sp6a you must do a coldclone
