  • 1.  Connection speed required for vSphere Client

VMware recommends a gigabit connection between vSphere Client and the vCenter Server it is connecting to.    Has anyone had success running the vSphere Client over a slower internet connection?  If so, what have you found is the slowest speed that is practically usable?  Has anyone made it work over regular home internet service plan speeds - (which are always less than 100Mbps down and less than 100Mbps up) - if so what is the minimum you recommend.

    Thanks

    Hello.

I use it over home internet (via VPN) and have had no issues with usability.  With that being said, sometimes I do find it quicker just to RDP directly to the vCenter server and run the client locally.

    Good Luck!

it takes about 5-10MBps line to be smooth if you're natively to open the client remotely with the console. the best possible way would be RDP into a server and then launching vsphere client from there ..
