I am new to VMware ESXi 5 and tried install on an Intel SL7PG processor and got the error "VMware ESXi cannot run on this CPU.  Vmware ESXi requires a 64 bit CPU with support for LAHF/SAHF in long mode."

If I upgrade to the SL7ZC processor is it compatible?

Thanks in advance for the help

Hello and Welcome to the forums!

If the CPU is below, it doesn't support VT-x so therefore you will not be able to run 64bit guests.

You may want to look a the VMware HCL to find a supported CPU

Thanks for the help from what I can see VMware doesn't support any PPGA604 socket processors.  Looks like its time for an upgrade.  Thanks
